65 Fe Silicon Description

65 FeSi is an alloy of iron and silicon. In the composition of 65 grade the latter element occupies 63-68%. Ferroalloy can be used in the foundry and steelmaking industry for alloying metal products. Thanks to silicon, electrical, structural, and other types of steel acquire resistance to corrosion and elasticity, increasing the melting point.

65 Ferrosilicon is obtained from rock containing 99% silicon. It is supplied in pieces in big-bag bags.

Ferrosilicon 65 is produced by reducing silica and iron ore with coke. Melting is carried out by a continuous slag-free process in ferroalloy furnaces with self-baking electrodes.

Methods for producing Ferrosilicon :

Float - the entire ferrosilicon melt is obtained from the mass of one melt;

Blot -ferrosilicon alloy is obtained from the melt of various melts;

Mixed-ferrosilicon alloy is made from the bulk of ferrosilicon, to which silicon is added from several melts.

Silicon in ferrosilicon alloys: reduces electrical energy losses, increases hardness and tensile strength, increases oxidation resistance, and increases elasticity and fluidity limits. The higher the silicon content in ferrosilicon, the lower its density and weight.
