Calcium Silicon Cored Wire, also called CaSi cored wire, consists of calcium-silicon alloy core material enclosed in a steel sheath. It is used in steelmaking and casting processes where calcium and silicon need to be introduced into molten steel through a controlled wire-feeding process.

Depending on the steel grade and treatment practice, calcium silicon cored wire can be used to support inclusion modification and molten-steel treatment. Actual treatment results depend on the core chemistry, wire specification, feeding equipment and operating conditions.

For purchasing, both the core alloy specification and the finished wire specification should be confirmed before an order is placed.

The finished wire also contains a steel sheath, so the Ca and Si percentages shown for the core material should not be treated as the chemical composition of the complete wire or coil.

Important: Core powder weight per metre, total wire mass, wire length and coil net weight should be checked as one consistent specification. These values should not be treated as independent catalogue numbers.
