Ferro Silicon 72 (FeSi72) is an iron-silicon alloy containing approximately 72% silicon. It is mainly used as a deoxidizer and silicon additive in steelmaking and can also be used in foundry and ferroalloy production.
FeSi72 is produced from silica, iron-bearing materials and carbonaceous reducing materials through electric furnace smelting. Because silicon has a strong affinity with oxygen, ferro silicon is widely used to remove oxygen from molten steel and adjust the required silicon content.
