Benefits of Refractory Brick

Fire Clay Bricks

High temperature resistance
Fire bricks can withstand extremely high temperatures of up to 1800°C without deforming or cracking, making them ideal for use in furnaces, kilns, and other high-temperature applications.

Thermal shock resistance
Fire bricks have excellent thermal shock resistance, meaning they can withstand rapid changes in temperature without cracking or breaking.

Chemical resistance
Fire bricks are highly resistant to chemical attack, making them suitable for use in corrosive environments.

Mechanical strength
Fire bricks have high compressive strength, which makes them suitable for use in high-stress applications.

Low thermal conductivity
Fire bricks have low thermal conductivity, which helps to reduce heat loss and improve energy efficiency.

Insulation properties
Fire bricks can provide insulation, helping to conserve heat and reduce energy consumption.

Durability
Fire bricks are durable and long-lasting, providing reliable performance over extended periods of time.

Versatility
Fire bricks come in a variety of sizes and shapes, making them suitable for various applications and designs.

Types of Refractory Brick

Standard Refractory Bricks

Standard bricks are the most common type and are used in general high-temperature applications. They provide excellent resistance to heat and can withstand temperatures ranging from 1400°C to 1800°C.

01

Insulating Refractory Bricks

Insulating bricks are lightweight bricks with low thermal conductivity. They are used to insulate furnaces, kilns, and other heat-processing equipment, reducing heat loss and improving energy efficiency.

02

Fire Clay Refractory Bricks

Fire clay refractory bricks are made from clay and other minerals. They are less expensive than other types of bricks and are suitable for low to moderate temperature applications.

03

High-Alumina Refractory Bricks

They contain a high percentage of alumina (Al2O3) and are suitable for applications requiring resistance to acidic and corrosive environments. They are commonly used in industries such as steelmaking and glass manufacturing.

Steel and Iron Industry
Refractory bricks are indispensable in the steel and iron industry since they are used in the fabrication of blast furnaces, converters as well as ladles. These structures work at very high temperatures and therefore come into contact with corrosive slags and molten metal. They have adequate thermal resistance and structural stability.

Cement Industry
The cement industry heavily depends on refractory bricks for lining its rotary kilns and coolers. The kilns operate at a very high temperature converting raw materials into clinker. Thus, refractory bricks protect them from thermal damage, chemical impact; thus ensuring long life and efficiency of these kilns.

Glass Industry
Refractory bricks are important in the glass industry where they are employed in making glass melting furnaces. High temperatures need materials that can withstand thermal shock and chemical corrosion that occurs due to the need to melt glasses.

Ceramics and Pottery
Kilns used to fire ceramics and pottery in the ceramics and pottery industry utilize refractory bricks. In order for these kilns to produce high-quality ceramics, they must be at a high constant temperature. Because of their thermal stability and resistance to thermal shock, fireclay bricks and high alumina bricks are often used in these applications.

Non-Ferrous Metal Industry
In non-ferrous metal industry furnaces smelting metals such as aluminum, copper, lead, etc., refractory bricks become useful. These furnaces work at high temperatures with corrosive slags. Due to the basic slags resistant nature mantle brick magnesia brick and chromite brick are commonly employed here which can withstand heat effects.

Power Generation
Particularly boilers and incinerators in power generation plants use refractory bricks. Such structures work under high temperatures conditions hence they require materials that can resist both chemical attack and thermal stress. That’s why in these cases either fireclay or high alumina bricks are usually preferred.

Petrochemical Industry
The petrochemical industry utilizes refractory bricks in reactors, reformers, and other units that have a high-temperature process path. For this reason, there is a need for materials capable of resisting thermal cycling and chemical corrosion within these surroundings. Refractory is what saves them from frequent replacements hence ensuring safe operations on efficiency grounds.

FAQ

Q: Can we visit your company?

A: Yes, of course, you are welcome to visit ZhenAn company and our products.

Q: Can we get the some samples?Any charges?

A: Yes , we could offer the sample for free charge but do not pay the cost of freight . If you place the order after confirm the sample , we will refund your express freight or deducte it from the order amount.

Q: Do you offer OEM service?

A: Yes, Oem is ok, our factory can offer produdcts that according to our clients' requirments.

Q: What is a refractory brick?

A: Refractory bricks are generally yellowish-white in color. They have excellent thermal resistance and great compressive strength. Their chemical composition drastically differs from the chemical composition of normal bricks. Refractory bricks contain around 25 to 30% alumina and 60 to 70% of silica.

Q: What is the difference between refractory and fire bricks?

A: Fire bricks, on the other hand, are primarily composed of clay minerals and alumina or mullite in lower quantities. Thermal properties: Refractory bricks generally have a higher thermal conductivity as of their higher density.

Q: Can refractory brick get wet?

A: If the material is stored improperly, such as in a place where the brick or refractory bags can become damp or wet, the moisture may get into the material and cause a partial setting of the refractory or make it completely unusable. Refractory material that is exposed to dampness will get hard and is easily recognized.

Q: Why is refractory brick radioactive?

A: The ore that is mined for use as refractory brick (i.e., bauxite) is commonly found in the presence of naturally occurring radioactive elements, such as uranium and thorium. These elements often end up in the finished brick, to a greater or lesser degree, depending upon their concentration in the ore.

Q: What are refractory fire bricks made of?

A: Refractory bricks usually contain 30-40% alumina and the primary raw material is usually chamotte with other materials. The maximum service temperature increases with increasing alumina content and kiln bricks can be obtained with an alumina content of 80% and above.

Q: How do you clean refractory bricks?

A: Gently scrub the brick with a masonry sponge. Use a soft-bristle brush or old toothbrush for more cleaning power. Dissolve some baking soda in a bowl of warm water. Rinse the brick with the baking soda water.
