Black silicon carbide is a fused abrasive and refractory raw material produced by smelting quartz sand and petroleum coke at high temperature. We supply black silicon carbide across grades 60# to 95#, with SiC content ranging from 60% minimum up to 95% minimum, mainly used as a deoxidiser and raw material for gun mud, castables, and trench materials in the refractory and steelmaking industries. Each grade is supplied with a controlled Free Carbon (F.C.) and Fe2O3 content to match different process and cost requirements, in both lump and powder form.

Steelmaking: Used as a deoxidiser during the steelmaking process to remove dissolved oxygen from molten steel, helping improve steel quality and reduce alloy loss.

 

Refractory Manufacturing: Used as a raw material in gun mud for furnace lining repair and in refractory castables requiring good thermal shock resistance.

 

Furnace Trench Systems: Used as a raw material in trench and runner materials for blast furnaces and other metallurgical furnaces.
