Ferro Titanium Description

Ferrotitanium is an alloying additive consisting of iron and titanium with a minimum weight of titanium /20%/ and a maximum weight content /75%/ produced by reduction or melting. Ferrotitanium is used as a deoxidizing and degassing component in the production of steel.

What is ferro titanium used for?

1. Used as deoxidizer, degassing agent.Titanium deoxidization ability compared with silicon, manganese, and can reduce the ingot segregation, improve ingot quality, improve the yield.

2. Used as alloy agent.Is the main raw material of special steel, it can increase the strength of the steel, corrosion resistance and stability.Widely used in stainless steel, tool steel, etc. And can improve performance of cast iron.

3. Used in foundry industry to improve the wear resistance of cast iron, stability, processability and so on. Titanium iron and titanium calcium type of electrode coating material.

Application:	In gray iron a small percentage promotes graphitization. Titanium is highly reactive in steelmaking and combines readily, and forms stable compounds, with carbon, oxygen, nitrogen and sulfur. Because of it's reactivity, it may be used to fix these elements, reducing or eliminating their sometimes harmful effects.
