Silicon Metals

Silicon metal is an industrial silicon material used where you need a defined silicon grade, impurity profile and charge size. We supply common grades including 553, 441, 3303, 2202 and 1101. The suitable grade depends mainly on your Fe, Al and Ca limits, application, particle size and purchase specification.

The following values are the published reference specifications for our common silicon metal grades. Final acceptance should be based on the agreed order specification and batch COA.

Aluminum Alloy Production

Send us your alloy specification and the permitted Fe, Al and Ca contribution from the silicon addition. The grade should be selected against the complete melt chemistry rather than the grade number alone.

Chemical Feedstock

Provide your process-specific impurity limits and feed size. Standard metallurgical silicon is not automatically suitable for every silicone or higher-purity process, so the required chemistry should be confirmed before ordering.

Published size options include 0-10 mm and 10-100 mm. Please specify the required size range and any limits for fines or oversize. If you need fine feedstock, review our silicon metal powder and send a separate powder sizing requirement.

Packing can be arranged in 1 MT big bags, 50 kg bags, drums or another agreed export format. Confirm the package type, net weight, liner and marking requirements with the quotation.

Which is better for my order: Silicon Metal 553 or 441?

Choose according to your impurity limits. The reference comparison shows different Fe, Al and Ca values, so the suitable grade depends on your alloy or chemical-process specification.

Is silicon metal the same as silica fume?

No. Silicon metal is elemental silicon feedstock. Silica fume is a silicon-dioxide-rich material with a different composition and purchasing specification.
