Eaf Graphite Electrodes are an important electrode material, commonly used in the production process of electrolysis of aluminum, copper, and other metals. It is made of high-purity graphite material with good electrical conductivity, thermal stability, and chemical stability, which is an essential key material in the electrolysis process.

Graphite electrodes have many advantages, such as high strength, high electrical conductivity, high-temperature stability, and chemical stability, etc. These characteristics make it widely used in foundry, refractory, graphite chemistry, electrolytic aluminum, and steel smelting industries.

(1) The increasing complexity of mold geometries and the diversification of product applications have led to higher and higher requirements for the discharge accuracy of spark machines. The advantages of EAF graphite electrodes are easier processing and less graphite loss, so some customers give up copper electrodes and use graphite electrodes instead. In addition, some special shapes of electrodes cannot be manufactured by copper, but graphite is easier to mold, and copper electrodes are heavier and not suitable for processing large electrodes, all these factors cause some customers to apply graphite electrodes.

(2) EAF graphite electrodes are designed differently from traditional copper electrodes. Many mold makers usually have different reserve in roughing and finishing of copper electrodes, while EAF graphite electrodes use almost the same reserve, which reduces the number of machine processing and thus improves the accuracy of mold cavities to a large extent.

(3) Graphite electrodes are easier to machine and significantly faster than copper electrodes. For example, the use of milling process processing graphite, its processing speed than other metal processing 2 to 3 times faster and does not require additional manual processing, while copper electrodes need to be manually thwarted grinding. If a high-speed graphite machining center is used to make the electrodes, it is even faster and more efficient, and there is no dust problem. During these processes, the selection of tools and graphite with the right hardness reduces tool wear and breakage of the copper electrodes.
