UHP Electrodes Description
UHP stands for Ultra High Power, referring to a category of graphite electrodes with extremely high power capacity. These ultra-high power graphite electrodes are produced using premium needle coke and undergo a graphitization process at temperatures reaching 2800 to 3000℃ in a string of graphitization furnaces, followed by heat treatment. Due to their lower resistivity, smaller coefficient of thermal expansion, and excellent resistance to thermal shock, they do not crack or break, allowing for higher current density, reduced smelting time, and increased production efficiency. UHP electrodes are suitable for use in ultra-large power electric arc furnaces with power levels ranging from 500 to 1200 kV.A/t.

Packaging of Ultra High Power Graphite Electrodes
Wooden Pallets:
Electrodes are placed on strong wooden pallets to provide a stable base for handling.
Protective Covers:
Wrapping electrodes in protective covers like plastic or shrink wrap safeguards them from moisture and dust.
Foam or rubber sheets may be used for additional cushioning.
Steel Bands:
Electrodes are secured to pallets with steel bands to prevent movement during transport.
End Caps:
Plastic or rubber end caps protect the threaded ends of the electrodes from damage.
Packing Frames:
For enhanced protection, especially during long-distance shipments, electrodes may be placed within metal or wooden packing frames.
