RP Graphite Electrodes

Regular power graphite electrodes are made of high-quality petroleum coke, coal pitch, and other raw materials. These materials are refined through processes such as calcining, crushing, sieving, batching, mixing and kneading, pressing, roasting, graphitization, and machining. Regular power graphite electrodes feature a dense and uniform structure, good electrical and thermal conductivity, high mechanical strength, and strong oxidation and corrosion resistance at high temperatures. The size of the regular power graphite electrodes we produce ranges from 75mm to 960mm in diameter and 1000mm to 2200mm in length.

We use advanced testing instruments to perform precise, individual testing on the electrodes and joints. We measure weight, length, diameter, bulk density, resistivity, the inner diameter of the joint hole, the outer diameter of the joint, taper, and other indexes to achieve a 100% qualification rate for the products leaving the factory.

Current Density: RP graphite electrodes typically operate at a lower current density compared to HP and UHP electrodes.
Electrical Resistivity: They have higher electrical resistivity than HP and UHP electrodes, which means they conduct electricity less efficiently.
Mechanical Strength: The mechanical strength of RP electrodes is lower than that of HP and UHP electrodes due to the differences in raw material and manufacturing processes.
Thermal Stability: While RP electrodes have good thermal stability, it is not as high as HP and UHP electrodes. They are still capable of withstanding the high temperatures encountered in EAF operations.

Electric Arc Furnaces (EAF): RP graphite electrodes are used in electric arc furnaces primarily for the production of steel. They are suitable for EAFs with a lower power input.
Ladle Furnaces (LF): They are also used in ladle furnaces, which are used to refine the quality of molten steel.
