The conversion of 45 ferrosilicon to 75 ferrosilicon requires a short process and no waste products. The technical operation of the converting process should be flexibly controlled according to the size of the furnace, the amount of material accumulated in the furnace and the actual converting experience. Generally speaking, the converting procedure is roughly as follows:

1. 2 to 3 shifts before refining, start lowering the electrode as much as possible to keep the working end of the electrode long enough and deeply embedded in the furnace charge to heat the furnace bottom and increase the furnace temperature.
2. Start lowering the material level eight hours before refining to minimize the accumulation of 45 ferrosilicon materials in the furnace.
3. Control the silicon content of the alloy close to the upper limit.

4. After the material level is lowered, stop adding 45 ferrosilicon materials and start adding 4 to 5 batches of furnace materials without steel scraps (silica material batch is 200 kg). Then, after the furnace is released, a furnace of 45 ferrosilicon materials should be used, and try to make the iron Put it clean. According to the analysis of the iron content in front of the furnace, add an appropriate amount of steel scraps to the molten iron ladle to adjust the qualified product (still 45 ferrosilicon).
5. Continue to add the furnace charge without steel scraps. Generally, the first furnace of ferrosilicon can be produced in 5 to 6 hours. Once it is qualified, start adding 75 ferrosilicon materials.
Care should be taken not to raise the material level too quickly when refining. The first furnace of ferrosilicon must be produced from a newly built ladle.
