FeTi is produced through two main methods: aluminothermic reduction and melting in an induction furnace. The product is manufactured using titanium scrap and low-carbon iron scrap.

Steel manufacturing plants employ FeTi alloy as a stabilising agent to prevent the formation of chromium carbide at grain boundaries. This can enhance malleability in carbon steels, thereby increasing their versatility. Furthermore, it is used in the production of low-carbon steel for the manufacture of steel sheets. At foundries, FeTi is used to fuse molten metal with titanium, imparting excellent strength and quality without interfering with other ratios.

Furthermore, ferrotitanium enhances the characteristics of alloys. It enhances their wear resistance and optimises machining properties. Additionally, it is incorporated into profile cables with a fraction of 0–2 mm.
