70% Fe Silicon is an alloy of iron and silicon. Silicon increases steel hardness, tensile strength, elasticity and fluidity limits, increases oxidation resistance, and reduces energy losses. 70% Fe Silicon is smelted from quartzite (rarely quartz) in powerful ore-thermal furnaces. Ferrosilicon is used for deoxidation and alloying of steel, and rich grades are also used for the recovery of metals from oxides.
