Polyurethane Enameled Magnet Wire Description
The straight solderability of polyurethane enameled wire refers to the ability of the enameled wire coated with lacquer film to destroy the lacquer film and to be tinned on the winding line when the lacquer film is thermally cleaved into volatile substances with low relative molecular mass in the tin-lining bath at a certain temperature. In this way, when the polyurethane enameled wire needs to be jointed, it is not necessary to remove the coating in advance, and its direct welding characteristics simplify the production process of winding wire and effectively improve the production efficiency. Polyurethane enameled wire is widely used in precision coils, motors, meters, household electrical appliances and other weak electrical products because of its excellent properties such as low dielectric loss, easy dyeing, high coating rate and direct weldability.

Factors Affecting Straight Solderability of Polyurethane Enameled Wire
The main factors affecting the straight weldability of polyurethane enameled wires are: (1) side reactions and catalysts; (2) the structure and ratio of the base resin; (3) the baking process of the enameled wires.
Since the reaction of isocyanatocool in chemical thermodynamics is very complex, different types of catalysts have different degrees of influence on the reaction of isocyanatocool. The suitable catalyst can effectively reduce the activation energy of the base material resin reaction, reduce the reaction temperature, and guide the reaction along the expected direction, which is conducive to obtaining a more ideal resin and film structure, to obtain the ideal film performance. The influence of catalyst on the direct weldability refers to how to inhibit and/or reduce the occurrence of side reactions through the catalyst's guiding effect on the main reaction of isocyanatocool. It mainly refers to the type and amount of catalyst.
The type of catalyst: the common reaction of polyurethane wire enamel has the addition and closure reaction of isocyanic acid cool, the synthesis reaction of the resin component containing light base, the curing reaction of the lacquer on the winding line after the lacquer is prepared, and the decomposition reaction of the wire enamel in the tin-lining tank. The choice of catalyst is also specific to these aspects.
Amount of catalyst: After selecting the appropriate type of catalyst, the amount of catalyst is defined based on the requirements of the storage period of the enamel and the curing requirements of the enameling process. In general, the storage life of the lacquer and the amount of catalyst are inversely related, with higher catalyst amounts resulting in relatively shorter storage lives. The authors also found in the laboratory, some catalysts not only have an effect on the storage period, but also may cause some varieties of lacquer discoloration.
Inadequate baking of enameled wires does not guarantee the acquisition of excellent properties of the enamel film. Polyurethane cool enameled wire with excessive baking, its straight welding performance will be reduced. This is mainly due to the reaction between the isocyanate group and the ammocool bond or itself during the baking process, resulting in a decrease in the content of ammocool bond in the cured enameled film, thus affecting the straight weldability of the film.
