Low sulfur GPC, also called graphitized petroleum coke, is a carbon additive made from petroleum coke through high-temperature graphitization. What Does Low Sulfur Mean for 1-5mm GPC?

For this grade, low sulfur means a sulfur limit of 0.05% max. The page does not use "low sulfur" as a general description: when you compare offers, compare the number, not the wording.

You can estimate the sulfur this material adds to the melt: addition mass × sulfur % ÷ melt mass. Illustrative arithmetic only: if you add 3.6 kg of GPC at the 0.05% maximum to 1,000 kg of metal, the sulfur added is at most 0.0018 kg, or about 0.0002% of the melt. Add this to the sulfur from your other charge materials and check it against your steel grade limit.

"1-5mm" describes the main size range, and some undersize and oversize can be present in any screened material. What you should agree before order is how much of the batch falls inside 1-5mm, and how much is allowed below 1mm (fines) and above 5mm (oversize).
