Calcined Petroleum Coke Description
In the production of calcined petroleum coke, the raw coke is added to the kiln tail within the rotary kiln. Subsequently, gas or heavy oil is sprayed from the nozzle of the kiln head, and the raw material is mixed and burned with air to form a high-temperature calcination zone. The temperature of the calcination zone reaches 1200–1350°C.
The elevated temperature facilitates the removal of moisture and the discharge of volatile matter, which in turn leads to a rearrangement of the coke crystal structure. Subsequently, the carbon atom grid level is altered and chemical changes occur, resulting in a product that is dense and conductive. Subsequently, the material is cooled below 200°C at a gradual rate and can then be stored.
