1.Nanometallic nickel was uniformly dispersed into polycarbosilane, and silicon carbide fibers containing nickel were prepared through melt spinning, non-melting treatment, and sintering. It was found that doping with nano nickel increased the melt spinning temperature of polycarbosilane and resulted in an increase in the diameter of the spun fibers. The silicon carbide fibers made when controlling the fiber weight gain rate during the non-melting treatment process to be between 9% and 11% exhibited the best mechanical properties. The optimal sintering temperature for nickel-containing silicon carbide fibers is 1250°C. The primary form of nickel present in the ceramic fibers is nickel-silicon intermetallic compound. The introduction of nano nickel facilitated the growth of β-SiC grains during the sintering process.
