SiC5515 High Carbon Silicon Description
High carbon silicon is a new type of alloy used in converters. It is a by-product of the production of metal silicon. It is mainly made up of silicon and carbon, with other elements including silica, phosphorus and sulfur.
It can be used instead of ferrosilicon, silicon carbide and recarburizer. It reduces the amount of deoxidizer needed and is used in converter smelting deoxidation alloying processes. The effect is stable, with better steel chemical composition, mechanical properties and internal control quality than traditional processes.
