What are silicon products?
The silicon content is between 14% and 99%, and the rest is impurities or another (some two) main elements. The alloy obtained by smelting is commonly known as silicon product. Usually include industrial silicon (metal silicon), ferrosilicon, barium silicon, silicon carbide, calcium silicon, etc. The most commonly used are industrial silicon (metal silicon) and ferrosilicon.
Smelting silicon products must meet the following two basic conditions:
①Places with strong environmental purification capabilities (places where light pollution sources are also allowed to occur);
② Abundant low-cost power sources, because silicon smelting is a high-energy-consuming industry. Taking industrial silicon as an example, the power consumption per ton of finished products is an average of 12,000 kilowatt hours. Usually, only low-cost hydropower (ranging from 0.2-0.5 yuan per kilowatt hour) can be used. Produce energy.
Due to heavy pollution and high energy consumption, silicon smelting enterprises can only be located in remote areas with abundant hydropower (some are rich in thermal power). Moreover, due to power shortages, production is often reduced or suspended due to power restrictions during the dry season.
