The Correct Storage Method Of Phosphate Refractory Castables

Phosphoric acid bonded refractory castable specimens were stored indoors, in the open air and in the standard curing room of the castables, and the room temperature compressive strength increased with the increase of the storage time, but the indoor storage was a little better than that of the outdoor, and the strength of the standard curing had a tendency to decrease slowly after 3 months. When stored indoors, the post-burning compressive strength was more than 10 MPa higher than that in the open air. The post-burn compressive strength of the standard maintenance indoor storage is also better than that of the open air. The specimens stored in the open air may have low performance of the refractory castables due to the change of heat and cold and the cycle of moisture and dryness.
The Correct Storage Method Of Phosphate Refractory Castables

It should be pointed out that the storage environment of phosphate and phosphate refractory castables at room temperature performance although there are some effects, but the high temperature performance has little effect, does not affect the use, this is due to the 200 ℃ before the addition of coagulants generated by the cemented phosphate to play a dominant role in the formation of high temperature ceramic bond to play a dominant role. Therefore, plus coagulant phosphate and phosphate refractory castables hardened, the requirements of the storage location, not very strict. Not add coagulant phosphate and phosphate refractory castables, after heat treatment, before storage. Without heat treatment has no strength, heat treatment temperature is low, easy to produce "deliquescence" phenomenon.
The Correct Storage Method Of Phosphate Refractory Castables

The binder in phosphate castable does not react with the material itself at room temperature. However, it may slowly solidify and harden due to temperature changes or other environmental factors during storage or transportation. If prolonged storage is required, a retarder such as citric acid or tartaric acid can be added to extend the shelf life.
