HP450 Graphite Electrode Description
Graphite electrodes are a common component of electric arc furnaces used in the steelmaking process. The principal function of the electrode is to introduce current into the electric arc furnace (EAF) after energisation, and to utilise the high-temperature heat source generated by the arc between the electrode end and the charge in order to perform metallurgical processes. The graphite electrode is an effective conductor for the heating and melting of the furnace charge.
