250mm UHP Graphite Electrode Description
The UHP graphite electrode is employed in the recycling of steel in the electric arc furnace industry. The principal component of the material is high-value needle coke, which is manufactured from either petroleum or coal tar. The final form of the graphite electrode is a cylinder, with threaded areas at each end. Thus, the graphite electrodes can be assembled into an electrode column with the use of an electrode nipple.
In order to meet the requirements of higher work efficiency and lower total cost, large-capacity ultra-high power arc furnaces are becoming increasingly prevalent. It is therefore anticipated that UHP graphite electrodes with diameters in excess of 500 mm will become the dominant market force.
