10-50mm Ferrovanadium, which is a master alloy with approximately 50% vanadium content, is produced by reducing raw materials with carbon or aluminum. Due to vanadium's strong affinity for carbon, carbothermic reduction is only feasible when low carbon content is not a requirement. The reaction between V2O5 and aluminum is self-sustaining and takes only a few minutes to complete. Once the process is finished, the furnace is cooled, dismantled, and the resulting metal block is cleaned and crushed to the desired particle size. Ferrovanadium is typically supplied in fist-sized "standard granularity," but it can also be crushed into various particle size fractions, which can be determined through consultation.
