The initial stage of the production process for ferrosilicon is the mixing of the raw materials. The materials are combined in accordance with a predetermined ratio, contingent upon the specifications outlined by the client. Subsequently, the resulting mixture is subjected to smelting in a submerged electric arc furnace or ladle-type furnace. The furnaces operate at temperatures exceeding 2,000 degrees Celsius, facilitating the reduction of iron oxide by coke and the reduction of iron oxide by silica to produce iron and slag.

Subsequently, the silicon and iron droplets are separated from the slag in a refining ladle, where the requisite additives are introduced to reduce the impurities. The refined ferrosilicon is then cast into moulds and cooled. The casting process results in irregularly shaped wafers that are crushed into the desired granule sizes.
