Product Introduction

Quick Answer: FeSi 70 Granules

FeSi 70 Granules are ferro silicon materials with Si 70% min, supplied in granular sizes such as 0.3–1 mm, 1–3 mm and 3–8 mm.

Compared with larger ferro silicon lumps, granules are selected when your feeding, weighing or process setup requires a smaller and more defined particle-size range. The current FeSi 70 specification also lists P 0.04% max, S 0.02% max and C 0.2% max. Aluminum is shown as 1.5 / 2.0% max in the existing specification and should be confirmed against the applicable order requirement.

If you need lump or powder forms instead of granules, the current product range also includes 10–30 mm, 30–50 mm and 50–100 mm lumps, as well as several powder mesh options.

For an accurate quotation, send us the required FeSi 70 chemistry, particle size, quantity, packing and destination port.

Why Choose FeSi 70 in Granular Form?

The main difference between this product and a standard FeSi 70 lump product is the particle form. Granular ferro silicon provides a smaller and more controlled size range for processes where bulk 50–100 mm material is not the preferred feeding form.

More Defined Particle Size

The current granule specifications include 0.3–1 mm, 1–3 mm and 3–8 mm. This allows the physical form to be selected according to your feeding equipment and process requirement.

Suitable for Controlled Feeding

If your operation uses smaller ferroalloy additions, granular material may be easier to integrate into the required feeding or dosing arrangement than larger lumps.

The correct size should still be selected according to your actual equipment rather than assuming that finer material is always better.

Different from Ferro Silicon Powder

Granules and powder should not be treated as the same product form. Granules retain a defined millimeter-scale particle range, while powder is specified by mesh size.

FeSi 70 Granules, Lumps and Powder

The existing product information lists FeSi 70 in three physical forms. Select the form according to your material handling, feeding and furnace requirements.

Product Form Available Reference Sizes Selection Focus
Granules 0.3–1 mm / 1–3 mm / 3–8 mm Smaller, defined particle ranges for suitable feeding requirements
Lumps 10–30 mm / 30–50 mm / 50–100 mm Larger particle sizes for bulk metallurgical charging
Powder 70 / 200 / 300 / 325 mesh Fine material where a powder specification is required

Other particle sizes may be discussed separately. If size distribution is important to your production, include the required range and tolerance in the RFQ.

How to Select FeSi 70 Granule Size

0.3–1 mm FeSi 70 Granules

This is the finest granular range currently listed on the page. Select it when your material-handling or feeding process specifically requires sub-millimeter to 1 mm ferro silicon particles.

1–3 mm FeSi 70 Granules

The 1–3 mm range provides a middle granular specification between the finest granules and the larger 3–8 mm material.

3–8 mm FeSi 70 Granules

This is the largest granular range currently listed. It remains significantly smaller than FeSi lump sizes such as 10–30 mm or 50–100 mm.

Specify the Size Tolerance

If undersize or oversize particles affect your process, do not send only "1–3 mm" or "3–8 mm" in the inquiry. Include any required particle-size tolerance or acceptance method so it can be confirmed before supply.

FeSi 70 Chemical Composition

Grade Si Min. Al Max. P Max. S Max. C Max.
FeSi70 70% 1.5% / 2.0%* 0.04% 0.02% 0.2%

*Al specification note: The existing technical table lists the maximum Al value as "1.5/2". It does not define the exact condition for each limit. Confirm the applicable Al maximum for your order before quotation and batch acceptance.

If your internal specification requires tighter Al, P, S or C limits, send the exact values with your inquiry.

What to Check Beyond Si 70%

The grade name "FeSi 70" only identifies the main silicon level. Your acceptance specification should also cover the other controlled elements.

Aluminum

The current source lists Al as 1.5 / 2.0% max. Because the original table does not explain which limit applies under which condition, the correct maximum should be confirmed in the quotation and COA rather than assumed.

Phosphorus

The current reference limit is P 0.04% max. Compare this value with the limit used in your own metallurgical process.

Sulfur

The current reference limit is S 0.02% max.

Carbon

The current FeSi 70 specification lists C 0.2% max. If carbon input is controlled in your process, include the applicable limit in the purchase specification.

Applications of FeSi 70 Granules

Steelmaking

FeSi 70 is used as a silicon-bearing ferroalloy in steelmaking. When you select the granular form, confirm that both the chemistry and the particle-size range match your feeding and process requirements.

Cast Iron Production

The existing product information also identifies cast iron production as an application for FeSi 70.

The actual grade, particle size and addition quantity should be determined from your own melt chemistry and target specification.

Alloy Production

The source page also associates ferro silicon with the production of other silicon-containing alloys. If your application has a specific impurity or particle-size requirement, send the complete specification before ordering.

Quality Control for FeSi 70 Granules

Confirm Batch Chemistry

For each order, compare the applicable batch chemistry with the specification agreed before shipment.

  • Si: confirm 70% minimum or your agreed specification.
  • Al: confirm whether the applicable maximum is 1.5%, 2.0% or another agreed limit.
  • P: confirm the maximum phosphorus limit.
  • S: confirm the maximum sulfur limit.
  • C: confirm the maximum carbon limit.

Check Granule Size

Granular FeSi should also be checked against the particle-size range confirmed in the order. If your process controls fines or oversize particles, include those limits before shipment.

Batch COA

If your procurement process requires a batch COA or other quality document, state the requirement in the RFQ so the applicable document can be confirmed before shipment.

FeSi 70 Packing and Bulk Supply

The current product information lists waterproof plastic woven bags with 1000 kg per bag.

If your warehouse or feeding process requires another bag weight or customized packing, include the requirement before quotation.

Why Particle Form Matters During Packing

Granules, lumps and powder behave differently during storage and handling. Make sure the packing method fits the physical form you order and keeps the product identification clear during receiving.

FeSi 70 Production and Supply

For a FeSi 70 order, we confirm the grade, particle form, required size, packing and commercial terms before supply.

If you require granules rather than lumps or powder, state the exact range directly in the inquiry so the quotation is based on the correct product form.
