Cored wire is a composite material used in molten steel or iron liquid. It is made of a variety of additives (deoxidizers, desulfurization agents, inoculants, alloys, etc.) and low carbon steel belts of varying lengths.

The wire filler is composed of the FeSiMg alloy, which provides a calm reaction and very good utilisation of Mg. The molten metal treated by such a wire is less likely to shrink and form cavities. The wire is primarily suitable for treating molten synthetic metals, molten metals with a high content of scrap steel, and molten metals in induction furnaces with a S <0.030% content.
