Black Silicon Carbide, produced by ZHENAN, is a synthetic material with a wide range of applications, including use as an abrasive, semiconductor, and diamond simulant of gem quality. The manufacturing process involves combining silica sand and carbon in an Acheson graphite electric resistance furnace at high temperatures. Furthermore, the conversion of fine SiO₂ particles from plant material and silica fume by-products to SiC can be achieved through the application of specific heating processes.
