High Level Product Electrolytic Manganese Flake

A new process for producing electrolytic manganese flake that saves energy and reduces consumption involves creating a small circulation of catholyte outside the electrolytic cell to assist in the recirculation of the original electrolytic solution. This process utilizes low manganese catholyte to replace high-manganese qualified liquid from manganese slag, which is used to supplement the manganese metal amount in the cell. Additionally, it employs the principle of a heat pump to convert the heat accumulated in the catholyte into hot air and hot water, which are used to dry the manganese sheets, heat the anolyte, and control the temperature of the electrolytic cell with the cooled catholyte. This invention requires a small investment, can utilize existing systems, achieves efficient energy saving and emission reduction, and has significant industrial application prospects.

1.The electrolytic manganese flake industry generally uses potassium dichromate as a passivation agent for electrolytic manganese sheets, but the hexavalent chromium (Cr^(6+)) in potassium dichromate is highly toxic, carcinogenic, and poses a threat to human health and the ecological environment. At the same time, the chromium-containing wastewater and waste residues produced increase the safety and environmental protection risks for enterprises. Therefore, it is imperative to adopt new chrome-free passivation technologies, especially to develop efficient and clean chrome-free passivating agents. Based on the properties of the passivating film-forming substances, chrome-free passivating agents can be divided into three major categories: inorganic salt type, organic type, and inorganic salt/organic composite type, each with different passivation mechanisms, raw material ratios, application conditions, and passivation effects.
