Ferrosilicon is supplied in batches of one of three types. The first type is the "melting method". It consists of a mass of ferrosilicon from a single smelting (or one part continuous smelting). It consists of multiple heats (or parts of continuous heats) of the same grade of ferrosilicon. The silicon content in the melts (or parts of continuous melts) that make up the batch should not differ from each other by more than 3%.Mixed method - a batch composed by the mixed method consists of several melts (or parts of continuous melts) of ferrosilicon of the same grade, which are ground to particles smaller than X** mm and thoroughly mixed.
