Using the molten salt electrolysis method, ferro titanium alloy compounds are directly prepared by electrolyzing solid metal oxides in a NaCl-CaCl2 molten salt system at 700°C, with a mixture of solid Fe powder and TiO2 powder as the cathode, a graphite rod as the anode, and an alumina crucible electrolytic cell with a cell voltage of 3.4 V. Fe powder and TiO2 powder are electrolyzed to obtain titanium iron alloy. The cathode products vary with different ratios of Fe and TiO2; during the first 7 hours, the electrolysis reaction rate increases with the increase in iron content.

1.The additive NCS promotes iron reduction and the separation of ferro titanium; with a usage of 30% for the bituminous coal A (compared to the sample weight), 11% for NCS, a reduction roasting temperature of 1250°C, a reduction roasting time of 60 minutes, a grinding fineness of 69.02% passing -43 μm, and a weak magnetic separation magnetic field strength of 151 kA/m, an iron powder with TFe grade of 93.74% and a recovery rate of 95.91%, with TiO2 grade of 0.45%, can be obtained, achieving efficient separation of titanium-iron; the enrichment of titanium in the tailings creates conditions for subsequent titanium recovery.
