How Ferro Silicon Is Classified In China

Representation of grades:

First, the first two represent the classification of ferrosilicon in China : high ferrosilicon (GG), normal ferrosilicon (PG), low aluminium ferrosilicon (DL) and high purity ferrosilicon (GC);

Then a code representing the ferrosilicon product, e.g. FeSi;

Then the content (mass fraction) representing the lower limit of silicon control, e.g. 97 indicates a lower limit of 97%;

Then the content (mass fraction) represents the sum of the major impurity elements and the upper control limit of the result. For example, Al1.5 indicates that the major impurity element is aluminum with an upper control limit of 1.5%.

The last classification is based on the content of minor impurity elements (A/B/C) and is limited to high-purity ferrosilicon.
