High Purity SiCa Description
Calcium silicon is a composite alloy of silicon and calcium. It is also a ferroalloy with impurities including iron, aluminium, carbon, sulphur and phosphorus. It comes in lumps or powder.
Calcium and silicon like to be with oxygen, especially calcium metal which also likes sulfur and nitrogen. Calcium silicon is an excellent deoxidising and desulfurising agent. Silicon alloys can easily remove impurities from steel. Currently, calcium silicon alloy can effectively replace aluminium for final deoxidation purposes.
