In the steel industry, the use of ferrosilicon powder at high temperatures can release a lot of heat this feature, often used as ingot cap heating agent to improve the quality of steel ingots and recovery rate.
(2)Used as inoculant and spheroidising agent in cast iron industry. Cast iron is an important metal material in modern industry, it is cheaper than steel, easy to melt smelting, with excellent casting performance and much better than steel seismic capacity. Especially ductile cast iron, its mechanical properties reach or close to the mechanical properties of steel. Add a certain amount of ferrosilicon in cast iron can prevent the formation of carbides in iron, promote the precipitation of graphite and spheroidisation, and thus in the production of ductile iron, ferrosilicon is an important inoculant (to help precipitate graphite) and spheroidising agent.

(3) Used as reducing agent in ferroalloy production. Not only is there a great chemical affinity between silicon and oxygen, but high silica ferrosilicon has a very low carbon content. Therefore, high silica ferrosilicon (or siliceous alloy) is a kind of reducing agent commonly used in the production of low carbon ferroalloys in the ferroalloy industry.
(4)75# Ferrosilicon in Pijiang method of refining magnesium is often used in the high temperature smelting process of magnesium metal to replace the magnesium in CaO.MgO, and every tonne of magnesium metal to be produced will consume about 1.2 tonnes of ferrosilicon, which plays a great role in the production of magnesium metal.

(5) Uses in other aspects. Grinding fine or atomisation processed ferrosilicon powder, in the mineral processing industry can be used as a suspension phase. It can be used as coating for welding rods in the welding rod manufacturing industry. High-silicon ferrosilicon can be used in the chemical industry to manufacture products such as silicone.
