This makes high carbon ferromanganese important in applications where high strength and hardness are required, such as blast furnace screens used in steel plants.
In addition, high carbon ferromanganese also has good heat resistance and corrosion resistance. The addition of manganese element can improve the antioxidant capacity of high carbon ferromanganese, allowing it to maintain better performance stability in high temperature environments. At the same time, high carbon ferromanganese can also resist the erosion of acidic and alkaline media, so it has a long service life under working conditions in corrosive environments.
In addition, high carbon ferromanganese has a higher melting point. Since the melting point of high carbon ferromanganese is around 1700°C, it can still maintain good performance under high temperature conditions. This makes high-carbon ferromanganese increasingly widely used in high-temperature processes, such as the manufacture of sintering beds for high-temperature-resistant sintering furnaces.
High carbon ferromanganese has better processability. Because high carbon ferromanganese can maintain good toughness and plasticity during processing, it has high processing stability during the manufacturing process. At the same time, high-carbon ferromanganese can also be alloyed and modified with some alloying elements that are compatible with iron and manganese elements to obtain better plasticity and processing performance.
