Electrochemical manganese is an elemental metal obtained through the extraction of manganese from ores via acid treatment. The resultant manganese salts are subsequently directed to an electrolysis chamber, where the metal is separated into its constituent components. Electrochemical manganese exhibits similarities to iron; however, it possesses an irregular morphology and a hard, brittle texture. One surface is characterized by a light appearance, while the opposite side is rough, displaying a color range from silvery-white to brown. Upon processing into a powder, it adopts a silvery-gray hue. This metal is susceptible to degradation when exposed to air, can dissolve, and has the capacity to displace hydrogen upon contact with dilute acid. Additionally, at temperatures slightly above room temperature, it can facilitate the electrolysis of water, resulting in the release of hydrogen gas.
