what's the difference between silicon carbide and high carbon silicon?

Black silicon carbide is stronger than green silicon carbide, which is mainly used for processing materials with low tensile strength, like glass, ceramics, stone, refractory materials, cast iron and non-ferrous metals.Green silicon carbide is about 97% SiC and is great for self-sharpening, as well as machining cemented carbide, titanium alloy and optical glass. It's also great for honing cylinder liners and precision sharpening high-speed steel cutting tools.

Silicon carbide has four main uses: functional ceramics, advanced refractories, abrasives and metallurgical raw materials.It's worth mentioning that raw silicon carbide is available in large quantities and isn't considered a high-tech product.

 

High-carbon silicon carbide is stable physically and chemically, has an excellent deoxidising effect, and can be added to steel water to quickly react with oxygen in steel water, forming steel slag, which rises to the surface of steel water to achieve the deoxidising purpose.

High-carbon silicon has the following characteristics:
1. High-carbon alloy is an excellent product for ferrosilicon production in steelmaking, providing significant cost savings and resource reuse. It's a really promising type of silicon coal with a lot of potential in the market.
3. In steel making, high carbon silicon is used as a deoxidiser, which means it reduces the oxygen content in the melt through a chemical reaction.
4. You can process high carbon silicon into balls, powder or granules according to what the customer wants.
5. High carbon silicon is dense and pure, with minimal contamination of steel.
6. High carbon alloys can maintain a high and stable recovery rate and stable performance.
7. High-carbon silicon can reduce the use of alloys, which means cheaper steelmaking and better economic efficiency.
8. High-carbon SiS can improve the quality of molten steel and the quality and productivity of steel.
