99.98% Magnesium Metal Ingots Description
Magnesium is a widely used industrial material, employed as an alloying agent and as a laboratory staple for a variety of chemical applications. It is most commonly sold as a strip or powder metal. When it is aluminised, the resulting metal is both lightweight and highly robust.
The largest single use for magnesium metal is in the production of aluminium alloys, which account for approximately 50% of total magnesium metal consumption. The combination of magnesium and aluminium results in the creation of high-strength, corrosion-resistant alloys. Approximately 20% is used in castings and wrought products, including machinery, tools and other consumer products such as parts for cars. Additionally, magnesium is employed in the removal of sulphur during the production of iron and steel, as well as in the manufacture of titanium via the Kroll process.
Due to its low weight and favourable mechanical and electrical properties, magnesium is a popular choice for use in the manufacturing of mobile phones, laptops and tablet computers, cameras, and other electronic components.
